TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A LEGAL DISCLAIMER

The information contained in these Terms and Conditions is intended for general guidance only and does not constitute formal legal advice. While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian Consumer Law, House of Manderson makes no guarantees regarding completeness or applicability to individual circumstances.

Customers should seek independent legal advice if they require clarification of their rights or obligations. House of Manderson disclaims all liability for actions taken or not taken based on the content of these Terms and Conditions, except where such liability cannot be excluded under Australian law.

HOUSE OF MANDERSON  POLICY

House of Manderson (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides bespoke, handcrafted jewellery from our Brisbane studio. By placing an order, commissioning a custom piece, or using our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions, which operate in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

Our custom-made jewellery is designed and crafted with exceptional care, and every client is informed of the materials, design details, and care requirements prior to purchase. While we take all reasonable steps to ensure accuracy in product descriptions, sketches, and design discussions, we are not liable for minor variations, omissions, or reasonable artistic differences that arise during the handmade crafting process. Each piece is individually produced and may vary slightly from renderings or concept images.

We provide a warranty of up to one year (12 months) from the date of delivery for craftsmanship-related issues that are deemed genuine faults in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper handling, neglect, misuse, accidental breakage, exposure to chemicals, improper storage, force, or any human-caused incidents. Common examples of human-caused damage include bending or snapping a ring band, broken chains due to pulling or snagging, dents or cracks caused by impact, tarnish from chemical exposure, or damage resulting from incorrect cleaning methods. Repairs for any user-caused damage will incur an additional service fee, quoted based on the level of repair work required.

If a product is altered, repaired, or adjusted by a third party after purchase, our warranty becomes void. Only work undertaken directly by House of Manderson will be covered under our workmanship guarantee.

We take great care in providing detailed product care guidelines in our FAQs section and with your order confirmation. Clients are responsible for following all provided care instructions. We are not liable for damage resulting from failure to follow care guidelines or from general wear and tear over time. Jewellery requires ongoing maintenance, and clients acknowledge that long-term upkeep is their responsibility.

For custom-made jewellery, a simple Customisation Sales Contract will be prepared outlining the agreed design, specifications, timelines, and pricing. Once a deposit has been paid, or once work has commenced (whichever occurs first), both parties accept all agreed terms. Due to the bespoke and handcrafted nature of our pieces, we are unable to offer refunds, cancellations, or changes of mind after the deposit is received or production has begun. This is because each piece is made specifically for the client and cannot be resold or repurposed.

Clients acknowledge that custom jewellery involves a collaborative creative process. Adjustments made during production to ensure structural integrity, comfort, or durability may be necessary. These adjustments will always be made with professional judgement and care, and while we aim to match the agreed concept precisely, slight differences may occur due to handmade craftsmanship limitations. Such differences are not considered faults under Australian Consumer Law.

If additional customisations or post-production changes are requested beyond the initial signed agreement—such as resizing outside standard limits, design alterations after production, or aesthetic modifications—these services will be subject to additional charges. We will provide a quotation prior to carrying out any extra work.

We strive to ensure every client is well-informed throughout the process and will provide updates and communication at key stages of production. Clients are responsible for reviewing all information, sketches, and design outlines before approving the final concept. Once approval is given, any further changes may incur additional fees or be unavailable depending on production progress.

These Terms and Conditions are updated periodically to reflect our processes and obligations. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the most recent version.
